This page explains what Drawfitti itself stores in your browser, and what third-party services we use might set on their own. "Cookies" here is used loosely to also cover the modern equivalents (localStorage, IndexedDB) that do the same job with less baggage.
Drawfitti's own code does not set traditional cookies. It uses your browser's localStorage (not sent to any server, stays on your device) for a small number of strictly functional preferences:
| Key | What it remembers |
|---|---|
drawfitti-minimap | Whether you've turned the mini-map panel on |
drawfitti-friends | Whether you've turned the chat/friends terminal on |
drawfitti-analytics | Whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies on the cookie banner, so it doesn't ask again |
None of these identify you, track you across sites, or get used for advertising. They exist purely so the app remembers a couple of your display preferences, and your cookie choice, between visits.
Drawfitti uses Google Firebase to handle sign-in. Firebase's own client library stores your sign-in session in your browser (IndexedDB/localStorage, not a traditional cookie) so you don't have to log in again on every visit. This is strictly necessary — there's no way to offer accounts, saved strokes, or purchases without it. See Google's own documentation for exactly what Firebase stores.
If you click Accept on the cookie banner, we load Google Analytics to understand how people use Drawfitti — for example, how many people visit, which pages they view, roughly where they're visiting from, and what kind of device and browser they use. This helps us improve the site. It is not used for advertising, and we don't send Google your email address or your drawings.
If you click Decline, or never answer the banner, Google Analytics is never loaded and none of these cookies are set. Accepting sets these first-party cookies on Drawfitti's domain:
| Cookie | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes one browser from another, so repeat visits can be counted | 2 years |
_ga_BYGMWLVHR4 | Keeps track of your current visit (session) for this site | 2 years |
Google processes this data on our behalf under its own terms. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google's Cookie Policy.
A few services this site relies on run their own code and may set their own cookies, outside Drawfitti's control:
None of these run unless you actually use that feature (checking out, watching a rewarded ad, or clicking "Continue with Google") — nothing loads them just from visiting the board.
Google Analytics is the only optional part, and it's off unless you accept it. You can change your answer at any time:
Analytics cookies: not chosen yet
Everything else Drawfitti itself sets is strictly functional (nothing used for advertising or cross-site tracking), so there isn't a meaningful "accept/reject" choice to offer for those — the app doesn't work without staying signed in. You can still:
